Here are activities for you during your stay - we’ve chosen to present them as a week’s
programme which you can use to suit you.

Day 1

Am.
Take waymarked track to Source of River Lot

Pm.
Walk to Source of the River Tarn on the Mont Lozere (waymarked track)

Day 2

Am.
Visit the Chateau du Tournel (you can walk there on waymarked tracks)

Pm.
Visit the Vallon du Villaret theme park

Day 3

Am.
Walk to the Sommet de Finiels, the highest peak on the Mont Lozere (over 5000 feet) and enjoy fantastic views.

Pm.
Visit Le Pont de Montvert (named Greenhill Bridge by Robert Louis Stevenson) and the Eco-Museum

Day 4

Am.
Visit Chateau du Champ and the Chateau de Castanet on the Altier valley. The market at Villefort (Thursday mornings) is well worth a visit.

Pm.
Villefort lake offers lots of activities: swimming, fishing, canoeing, walks.

Day 5

Am.
Starting from the hotel, a local track will take you through woods where you might find wild mushrooms or hear the mating call of the red deer.

Pm.
Visit the county town Mende with its fascinating cathedral and quaint streets.

Day 6

Am.
Visit a traditional hamlet, the "Ferme des Boissets"

Pm.
Go to the famous village of Sainte Enimie and the Tarn Gorges.

Day 7

Am.
Visit the medieval village La Garde Guerin and the Chassezac Gorges.

Pm.
Drive along the Chassezac Gorge and go to the Trappist monastery, Notre Dame des Neiges, named ’Our Lady of the Snows’ by R L Stevenson.

That’s a week already and we haven’t even mentioned downhill or cross-country skiing on the Mont Lozere, discovering the source of the river Altier, visiting Florac, seeing the Wolves of the Gevaudan, walking on a multitude of footpaths and tracks, or just having a peaceful lie-in. All guaranteed to leave you with a lasting memory and which will make you want to come back time and again.
